Sruti has been receiving emails from artists, rasikas and Sruti readers on their inspirations, experiences this lockdown and what they are listening to during this period. Sruti has compiled this series as lockdown diaries and sharing some of them with you.
The following article is by two young rasikas of vidushis Ranjani-Gayatri. Young Mridula and Sanjana share their lockdown listening choices.

I have been an avid listener of Ranjani-Gayatri's music, my all time favourite being the Marathi abhang Pandhari che bhoota mothein the raga Chandrakauns. During the lockdown, I've enjoyed listening to their music even while doing homework and household chores. Their voices and strengths complement each other beautifully, making their music very pleasing to hear. I'm looking forward to listening to more and more of their melodious music, especially abhangs, in the future. I started learning Carnatic music at the age of four from guru Rama Murali. For the past five years, I have been learning under guru Savitha Kartik, founder of Parampara Creative Arts Foundation.

I usually listen to Ranjani-Gayatri’s music at random, mostly to familiarize myself with the ragams and song. But, I also listen to them whenever I need to de-stress; their soothing voices enough for me to do so. My favourite song to listen to, just before sleeping, is Krishna nee begane. The flow and rendering of the song always manages to calm me and put me to sleep. I hope to listen to more of such songs and enjoy them thoroughly. I started learning music, at the age of 5 at SIFAS, Singapore. After shifting to Bangalore, I continued my music learning at Parampara, under the guidance of my teacher and founder Savitha Karthik.
